Great result for George

A number of Avon racers went to Les Houches in France this January to compete in the Anglo Scottish Championships.

After his podium places and winning the Welsh Championships (minis) at Pontypool and the South West Schools Open Ski Championship in the year 4, 5 and 6 category, at Gloucester on plastic, George Case went to Les Houches near Chamonix to train on snow with the British Ski Academy and take part in the annual Anglo/Scottish races.

There were about 50 minis taking part, and George was placed 2nd and 3rd in the two Giant Slalom races. The other Avon racers who competed were Max Schubert and Darcie Coates. Max came 23rd and 22nd in the two Mini's Giant Slaloms and Darcie came 31st in the Girl's Giant Slalom and 25th in the Girl's Slalom.

Well done to all three. The next races will be the English Championships in Bormio at half term, good luck to everyone from Avon who will be competing there.
