Ski the Height of Everest

UPDATE: Sponsorship Form

You can now download the sponsorship form here.

At 10:00 on Saturday, 13th July 2013, Avon Ski Club will be holding a fund raising event at the Mendip Snowsport Centre.

All of the funds raised will be split evenly between Avon Ski Club, in order to be able to provide wireless timing equipment for club races and race camps, and with Snow-Camp.

Snow-Camp is an innovative youth charity that uses a unique combination of skiing, snowboarding and life-skills programmes to support inner-city young people.

The main part of the day will be a sponsored ski, where the club racers will attempt to ski the height of Mount Everest. That's 54 runs down the slope!

Amongst other things planned is a Rossignol Ski Test, tuning demos, tobogganing and use of the climbing wall. There will be a BBQ, hot food and drinks available.

Keep an eye on this page for further details, and please let us know if you would like to take part either as a skier or to generally help out with the running of the day, either by email or speak to one of the committee.

If you're an SWSA affliated club and would like to raise money for your own club and Snow-Camp, then, subject to an entry fee, your members can also take part. for more details.
